On Wednesday, August 5, 2015 the congregation had a Town Hall meeting to discuss possible next steps regarding the new building. Here is an audio recording and the presentation slides from that meeting:
On November 19, 2014, the New Building Task force brought a presentation to the church at a Town Hall meeting. The Elders and the Task Force are recommending that the project be put out to bid in January 2015, with a proposed ground breaking in March of 2015. This recommendation has with it three prerequisites that all must be met before the project can move forward:
- For our building giving to reach $450,000 by December 31, 2014.
- To have a balanced budget (receipts equal to or greater than expenses) by December 31, 2014.
- For the project bids to come back under 110% of the estimated cost.*
On November 30, 2014 after the worship service there will be a Special Called Business Meeting to vote on this recommendation. On this page you can find the presentation PDF that was used at the November 19th Town Hall. The presentation has been updated to accurately reflect estimates highlighted in the discussion. Also included below is the audio from the November 19th presentation. Lastly, you can find below a sample ballot that will be used on November 30th at the Special Called Business Meeting.
*One correction to the audio concerning the prerequisites. It was said that the Task Force and the Elders had approved the prerequisites as stated. The Elders have only discussed the prerequisites, but it was not made an official motion at the November 16, 2014 Elder meeting. The Elders will formally vote on the prerequisites in advance of the November 30th vote, and the ballots will reflect their official recommendation. Apologies for the confusion and contradictory information. The Elders will also decide if absent ballots will be used for those who cannot make the November 30th worship service and Special Called Business Meeting.
